For the past 2 weeks, we have had Bradley and Lewis from Shoeburyness High School conduct work experience at 07 Heaven. They came in as two very ambitious individuals with a thirst for knowledge in marketing, particularly in web development. Some of the services we provide focus on websites, therefore we knew we could develop their knowledge in the field to new levels of expertise.
Both Bradley and Lewis had a previous interest in websites and coding as they had spent time at home researching and experiencing what it was like to build a site. However, both agreed using their free time at home has not allowed them to fully immerse themselves in coding, therefore wanted a work placement in a company who knew what they were talking about when it comes to HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, jQuery etc. For some, those keywords are a bit scary, but to Bradley and Lewis, they are quickly becoming experts in web development.
One of the many benefits they found working with us on their placement was that us being a marketing agency meant we had endless knowledge which they could learn from. Lewis said, “working here meant that I gained more real-world experience and was able to develop my marketing understanding”. In particular, we were able to give them access to HubSpot and Treehouse, online courses which can teach you everything you need to know about marketing and website development. Both students LOVED the platforms, Bradley said: “My main highlight of working at 07 Heaven was being able to use professional online platforms which significantly helped my coding skills and meant I can use the certificates I achieved on my CV”.
Our Client & Strategy Manager Pippa and Managing Director Luke oversaw their progress throughout their time here, always willing to help and advise for their work as well as their professional development. Near the end of their placement they were set the task of building a website on the topic of Inbound Marketing, here are some screenshots of the sites they created:
